Open Enrollment Opens. Nevada Health Link begins accepting applications for 2026 coverage. Plans and premiums for the new year are finalized.
Jan 1 Coverage Deadline. Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1. Miss this date and your earliest coverage start is February 1.
Open Enrollment Closes. Last day to enroll for a February 1 effective date. After this, only qualifying life events allow enrollment.
Special Enrollment. Qualifying life events trigger a 60-day SEP window outside of open enrollment.
The boosted ARP premium tax credits that significantly reduced premiums since 2021 have expired as of 2026. Many Nevada residents who previously paid very low premiums will see increases. A broker recalculates your actual subsidy under current rules before you enroll.
If you don't actively re-enroll, you'll be auto-renewed into your current plan — but your income estimate, premium, and network may all have changed. Auto-renewal is not the same as reviewing your options. Always actively compare before the Dec 15 deadline.

A Qualifying Life Event (QLE) triggers a 60-day Special Enrollment Period. Document your QLE — you'll need to provide proof to Nevada Health Link.
Losing employer-sponsored health coverage, aging off a parent's plan, losing Medicaid eligibility, or COBRA expiring all trigger a 60-day SEP.
Marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, or death of a dependent are qualifying events. Coverage can be added or changed within 60 days of the event.
Relocating to Nevada from another state, or moving to a new Nevada county with different plan options, triggers a 60-day SEP. Your previous plan doesn't transfer.
A significant income change that affects subsidy eligibility — gaining or losing eligibility for Medicaid, for example — may trigger an SEP.
Errors by the marketplace, natural disasters, or other exceptional circumstances may qualify for an SEP. Contact a broker to determine eligibility.
